Space Operations Training Specialist

Location: On-site at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States; minimal travel under 20%; standard working hours.

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 annually for Colorado.

What you will do

• Update and maintain Mission Qualification Training curriculum covering orbital mechanics, relative satellite navigation, astronautical engineering, space technology, DoD test and evaluation standards, and data analysis.
• Develop lesson plans, master task lists, examinations, quizzes, and other technical training materials.
• Instruct and facilitate mission qualification, mission planning, data analytics, modeling and simulation, and data science training.
• Coordinate training schedules, stakeholders, classrooms, student feedback, and Government documentation.
• Maintain training records and administrative data in systems such as PEX, CFETP, and WJQS.
• Audit instructional system design, manage the strategic training environment plan, and coordinate training for capability-specific technologies and systems.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility and U.S. citizenship are required.
• At least 10 years of experience supporting space operations.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting orbital warfare missions, space system testing, operational test, developmental test, or test and evaluation activities.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics, space mission planning, and Department of Defense test and evaluation processes and standards.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and delivering technical training programs, curriculum, lesson plans, qualification programs, examinations, and training materials.
• Experience facilitating classroom and hands-on technical training and using modeling and simulation tools such as STK, FreeFlyer, or similar software.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of DoD satellite operations training experience.
• Certification as a DoD trainer specializing in space systems.
• Microsoft Access and Excel experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or additional relevant education and certifications.
