Senior Systems Engineer (Defense)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; onsite with no remote or telework allowed

Salary: $110,204.91–$191,624.96 annually

What you will do

• Provide systems engineering technical assistance for Enterprise Resiliency defense-related system acquisitions.
• Assess space requirements, CONOPS, architecture products, schedules, risks, and baseline closure activities.
• Develop technical models and support system readiness events using approved digital engineering processes.
• Collaborate with government systems engineers, acquisition offices, customers, and contractor stakeholders.
• Develop resolution plans for complex technical challenges and support strategic capability planning.
• Prepare briefings and communicate technical findings to senior customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• Active and maintainable TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• 3–10 years of experience depending on STEM degree level: PhD, MS/MA, or BS/BA.
• Technical experience with space-based sensors and systems, space/ground communications systems, vulnerabilities, and threats.
• Experience with large acquisition systems engineering efforts, the Systems Engineering V-model, requirements engineering, verification, testing, and systems integration.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, stakeholder communication, briefing skills, and experience working with integrated engineering teams.
• Ability to work onsite with government customers in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• OCSMP certification or willingness to obtain Level 3 certification.
• Experience with MBSE, SysML, digital engineering tools, Confluence, and Jira.
• Intelligence Community or Department of Defense customer experience.
• Knowledge of space and ground architecture, requirements repositories, threat scenarios, and VV&T strategies.
