Manufacturing Engineering Technician (Automation)

What you will do

• Support the design, development, optimization, and implementation of metal fabrication, assembly, and automated manufacturing processes.
• Install, test, validate, commission, and launch automated equipment and manufacturing systems.
• Troubleshoot and optimize PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, electrical components, and related equipment.
• Analyze production data to improve throughput, reduce scrap, increase OEE, and support capacity planning.
• Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, PFMEAs, control plans, and process-validation records.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering on process changes, quality issues, and new technology implementation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification, associate degree, or diploma in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, automation, or manufacturing engineering technology preferred.
• Two to five years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, industrial equipment, or manufacturing automation preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, automation, and quality-control practices.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings; familiarity with CAD/CAM tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, ISO 9001 and/or AS9100, and manufacturing safety protocols.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic tools; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting projects, coordinating with vendors, or participating in equipment installation and commissioning.
• Technical certification or an associate degree in a relevant engineering technology field.
