Technical Program Manager, Software Operations (AI)

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid with three days per week in the office and residence within commuting distance required

Base salary: $118,000–$146,900 per year, depending on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.

What you will do

• Design, build, and improve processes, workflows, tools, and operating mechanisms for the software development organization.
• Build an AI-enabled software development lifecycle using AI agents, automation, APIs, and deterministic workflows.
• Develop engineering metrics and feedback systems covering productivity, quality, flow, predictability, and organizational health.
• Define planning, execution, roadmapping, work-tracking, and capacity-planning mechanisms for autonomous software teams.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, implement improvements, and measure outcomes.
• Use data to evaluate operational changes and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in software engineering, software operations, developer productivity, technical program management, product operations, platform engineering, or a related field.
• Experience designing and improving processes, workflows, tools, or operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with engineering tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, CI/CD platforms, or cloud services.
• Practical experience using AI tools and applying AI or automation to engineering workflows.
• Experience using data and metrics to evaluate improvements and support decisions.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to work from the Boston office three days per week; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience building workflow automation, API integrations, scripts, AI agents, or internal productivity tools.
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, JavaScript, DORA, SPACE, flow metrics, or developer experience metrics.
• Experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevSecOps, Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Jenkins, AWS, or similar platforms.
• Experience with large software engineering organizations, consumer software, embedded software, or connected-device development.
