CNC Machinist III

Location: Walpole, Massachusetts, United States; onsite, 3rd shift

Salary: $31.61–$47.42 per hour

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and 5-axis and 6-axis machining centers.
• Produce complex components such as hubs, impellers, and CPP propellers from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select tooling, adjust offsets, verify machine parameters, and complete follow-up operations including deburring, polishing, and grinding.
• Perform quality checks with micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM, and other precision instruments.
• Maintain production, quality, and maintenance records while following safety and DoD standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, QC, and other machinists to resolve production issues.

Requirements

• 2+ years of machinist experience.
• Associate’s degree or CNC Machining Technology certification from a 2-year program, plus a high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of machining fundamentals, G-code, M-code, and shop mathematics.
• Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T requirements and use precision inspection tools.
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Ability to wear PPE, stand for extended periods, perform physical shop-floor activities, and lift up to 55 pounds.

Nice to have

• Defense manufacturing experience.
• Experience with Fanuc or Siemens CNC controls.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or TPM principles.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
