Field Service Technician Level I (Electrical)

Location: North Carolina, USA; customer-site and vendor-site work with occasional travel of up to 75% to regional field offices and vendor sites.

What you will do

• Support the start-up and commissioning of switchboards, control panels, and power products under experienced field service supervision.
• Assist with installing and modifying electrical and mechanical components, including circuit breakers, bus bars, control components, power cabling, and control wiring.
• Perform basic testing of modified assemblies according to established procedures.
• Assist with troubleshooting electrical circuits and networking equipment.
• Identify and escalate product, commissioning, and customer-site issues to field service leads, project managers, manufacturing teams, or management.

Requirements

• Basic electrical, mechanical, or technical aptitude.
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams, work instructions, drawings, checklists, and technical documentation.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently after appropriate training and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to bend, lift, and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Associate degree, vocational training, military experience, or equivalent experience in power distribution systems or related commissioning activities.
• 0–2 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, technical, manufacturing, construction, or field service work.
• Experience with switchgear, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, or related equipment.
