What you will do

• Develop features for the hirify.global database engine.
• Improve query execution, optimization, and runtime performance.
• Work on storage engines, indexing, transactions, and data management.
• Build reliable distributed-system components and investigate scalability, performance, and correctness issues.
• Write production code, tests, documentation, and technical designs through regular release cycles.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, completed or expected by the start date.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Programming experience in C++ or C.
• Understanding of operating systems, concurrency, multithreading, and computer architecture.
• Familiarity with Linux or Unix-based systems.
• Ability to learn quickly, solve complex technical problems, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Nice to have

• Coursework or project experience in databases, distributed systems, storage systems, compilers, or networking.
• Experience with database internals, query processing, indexing, or transaction systems.
• Experience debugging or optimizing systems-level software.
• Familiarity with performance profiling, memory management, or low-level programming.
• Experience contributing to production software or substantial technical projects.
