Electrical Engineer III - Life Sciences

Location: Must be within commutable distance to Atlanta, GA, USA, or willing to relocate. Hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Design intermediate-complexity electrical systems, including power, lighting, grounding and bonding, special systems, raceways, cable trays, and controls.
• Produce calculations, basis of design reports, code evaluations, one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, specifications, and installation details.
• Manage electrical discipline scopes and budgets for small to medium-sized projects while coordinating with architects, engineers, clients, construction managers, vendors, and trade partners.
• Support construction through RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, field surveys, and construction progress reporting.
• Lead quality checks, systems design programming, and master planning activities, and provide mentorship to less experienced engineers and designers.
• Support proposals, internal training, professional development, and multiple concurrent projects.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• At least 5 years of experience in a relevant AEC firm.
• Professional Engineer registration in good standing.
• Experience with electrical lighting, power, and special systems design, engineering calculations, and applicable electrical and building codes.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Ability to work from the Atlanta area under a hybrid schedule or relocate to the area.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
• Experience with NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, IEEE, and applicable building codes.
• Experience leading field surveys, troubleshooting electrical systems, and supporting field reporting.
• Ability to travel for client development, project execution, and training.
