Director, Electrical Engineering (Data Centers)

Location: Remote within the United States. Domestic travel to project sites, vendor factories, and operational facilities required up to 30–40%.

Salary: $197,600–$221,300 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the technical strategy, specification, procurement support, integration, and deployment of OFCI electrical infrastructure across multiple data center projects.
• Provide technical leadership across planning, design, construction, commissioning, energization, and operational turnover.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables from EORs, vendors, manufacturers, consultants, contractors, and commissioning partners.
• Evaluate electrical equipment vendors through bid reviews, submittals, factory witness testing, performance validation, and long-lead procurement planning.
• Resolve RFIs, field issues, commissioning findings, technical risks, and design clarifications while supporting fast-track project schedules.
• Develop electrical design standards, Basis of Design documents, procurement specifications, technical governance, capital plans, and long-term infrastructure strategies.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass comprehensive background screening.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 15+ years of experience with mission-critical facilities and large-scale data center electrical infrastructure design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Hands-on expertise with generators, UPS systems, medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, busway systems, protective relaying, power monitoring, grounding, and fault-tolerant electrical architectures.
• Experience leading OFCI procurement, vendor management, factory witness testing, technical evaluations, multidisciplinary coordination, commissioning, energization sequencing, and operational turnover.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NETA, and applicable mission-critical standards; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
