Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States

Salary: $220,000–$331,000 annual total target cash for the San Francisco Bay Area, inclusive of bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Design and build full-stack applications and tools for high-leverage operational use cases.
• Build service connectors that allow AI and automation tools to work across business systems.
• Improve engineering tools, processes, technical architecture, and AI-native development approaches.
• Drive end-to-end reconciliation across financial systems from quote through revenue recognition.
• Enable cross-system reporting, traceability, and operational improvements across Finance, People Operations, Product Operations, Legal, and HR.
• Own solutions throughout the full software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience shipping and operating production services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Full-stack development experience across frontend, backend, tools, and integrations.
• Experience with data warehouses and SQL-based systems.
• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions and software designs.
• Experience with frontier AI tooling, including harnesses, MCP servers, and agents.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating LLM systems with evaluation harnesses, regression suites, and accuracy tracking.
• Familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, or medallion-style warehouse architecture.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday, Zip, Ramp, or Stripe.
• Prior experience in internal tools, solutions, or platform engineering for internal stakeholders.
