Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base salary: $202,500–$274,000 per year, plus potential bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Drive technology initiatives end to end, including horizontal architecture layers and solutions spanning organizational boundaries.
• Design and implement durable, scalable, secure software that addresses critical customer problems.
• Apply AI technologies to customer problems and guide the development of AI-native applications.
• Evaluate AI solution accuracy using appropriate evaluation tools and understand the capabilities and limitations of different AI models.
• Partner with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to influence end-to-end product and technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and communicate technical direction to technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
• 5+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems, management products, or business applications.
• Full-stack development experience with AI technologies and tools, including frontend or backend user experiences.
• Experience with technologies such as React, Angular, SwiftUI, Kotlin, Java, TypeScript, Spring, Express, SageMaker, Vertex, LangChain, large language models, prompt engineering, Dialogflow, and Python.
• Experience building AI-native applications for at least one year and working in cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, with strong analytical, communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
