Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid work with two required in-office days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Extra remote time may be requested.

Salary: €51,000–€66,500 gross per annum.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable, high-quality backend systems for savings and wealth management.
• Architect subsystems supporting savings and investment features and maintain consistency across products.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to align technical decisions and deliver impactful features.
• Mentor engineers, review code, and promote continuous improvement and high engineering standards.
• Own technical work from conception through delivery using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, AWS, and microservices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related backend software engineering experience in product-based companies.
• Proven experience building and maintaining microservices and cloud environments.
• Strong experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms; AWS experience is beneficial.
• Structured and persuasive communication skills for collaboration with varied stakeholders.
• Fluent English is required.
