Senior Accountant (Carbon Credits)

Location: Office-based 4 days per week where hirify.global has offices; remote work applies only to roles specifically marked as remote. Offices are located in San Francisco, New York, Denver, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, and Mexico City.

What you will do

• Own the general ledger close for core balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, accruals, payroll liabilities, and account classifications.
• Prepare stock-based compensation journal entries, track early exercise activity, and reconcile equity-related accounts.
• Support US GAAP financial statements, period-end cutoffs, monthly flux analysis, cash reconciliations, marketable securities, and investment accounting.
• Own end-to-end accounting for carbon credit offerings, adjustments, and monthly reconciliations.
• Maintain intercompany frameworks, elimination logic, transaction-flow documentation, and support sales tax and VAT compliance.
• Document workflows and help implement AI tooling, data automation, ERP upgrades, subledger configurations, and modern accounting processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 or national public accounting and high-growth SaaS environments.
• Strong command of US GAAP across core general ledger areas, including payroll, fixed assets, leases, investments, and intercompany consolidations.
• Experience owning accounts through month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries in a multi-entity or global environment.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems such as NetSuite, Workday, or Rillet, plus advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CPC, or an international equivalent is preferred.
• Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Mexican statutory accounting and SAT compliance.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Experience evaluating, testing, or implementing AI tools and data automation.
