Senior Accountant (Clean Energy)

Location: Santa Clara, California, or remote within the United States. Remote employees must travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter based on business or team needs, and must work onsite there during the first two weeks of onboarding. Only applicants who meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable U.S. export control laws may be eligible.

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries in NetSuite, including accruals, prepaids, allocations, and reclassifications.
• Complete balance sheet and income statement reconciliations in FloQast and resolve reconciling items and unusual account activity.
• Own monthly and quarterly close activities, including reporting status, issues, and dependencies.
• Prepare roll-forwards, supporting schedules, variance analyses, and documentation for management and financial reporting.
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting, SEC reporting schedules, internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requests.
• Improve and automate journal-entry, reconciliation, and close processes while supporting accounting research and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Three to five years of progressive general accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close responsibilities.
• Experience preparing journal entries and completing balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate accounting information and results clearly in writing and verbally.
• Eligibility to work as a U.S. person under applicable U.S. export control laws may be required.

Nice to have

• Big Four experience or CPA certification.
• Master’s degree in accountancy.

• Hands-on experience with NetSuite, FloQast, stock-based compensation, and payroll accounting.
