Turbine Technician (Gas Turbine)

Location: Southaven, Mississippi / Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The position is based at a power generation facility, requires work in hazardous environments and confined spaces, and may require travel to other sites for up to 25%.

What you will do

• Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot gas turbine generator packages, including Solar and 6000-class units.
• Support turbine start-up, loading, shutdown, cooldown, turning-gear operations, trips, alarms, and return-to-service activities.
• Maintain and troubleshoot auxiliary systems, including lube oil, hydraulic, fuel gas, inlet air, ventilation, cooling, fire and gas detection, and generator systems.
• Repair or replace mechanical, electrical, and controls components and assist with OEM controllers, PLC, HMI, and SCADA interfaces.
• Execute MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, lockout/tagout, hot work, confined-space, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Support scheduled outages and commissioning by performing inspections, functional testing, system isolation, and turnover monitoring.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a technician or operator working with gas turbines, rotating equipment, or industrial mechanical, electrical, or control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, OEM manuals, schematics, and drawings.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and operate in heat, cold, rain, and hazardous areas while wearing PPE.
• Availability for overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts based on turbine operational needs.

Nice to have

• Experience operating or maintaining gas turbines in a power plant or industrial generation setting.
• Experience with turbine auxiliaries, generator systems, OEM turbine controls, PLC, HMI, or SCADA.
• Experience writing and executing MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
• Associate's degree in Power Plant Technology, Turbine Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
