Senior Software Engineer (Python/AWS)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid with four days in the office each week in most locations

Salary: CAD 90,489–132,711 per year; 12.5% annual incentive target

What you will do

• Build and maintain Python-based data pipelines on AWS using S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, and ECS.
• Design reliable delivery systems for CSV, Parquet, and JSON files using S3, SFTP, and cloud data marketplaces.
• Implement partitioning, compression, encryption, data validation, monitoring, and alerting.
• Migrate legacy feed products to cloud-native AWS architecture and contribute to CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Help build web interfaces for feed monitoring and configuration.
• Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and 5+ years of software or data engineering experience.
• Professional experience with Python for data pipelines, ETL processes, and backend services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, including compute, storage, and serverless services.
• Experience with CSV, Parquet, and JSON data formats and reliable data delivery solutions.
• Familiarity with SQL, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Ability to work in the Toronto hybrid environment, with regular in-office collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vue.js, React, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries with strict data quality and SLA requirements.
