Software Engineer, Data Systems (Python)

Location: Remote in Canada

Base salary: $140,000–$155,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain data pipelines that ingest and transform data from advertising platforms, order management systems, and real-time customer events.
• Develop secure, tenant-aware APIs and integration patterns for external systems using authentication methods such as OAuth and API keys.
• Work with event-driven and batch processing architectures to keep data fresh, reliable, and consistent.
• Add monitoring and alerting for data freshness issues, failures, and performance problems.
• Improve data flows and transformations by balancing cost, efficiency, reliability, and delivery speed in a cloud-native environment.
• Partner with data engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to make the integration platform easier to extend.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or integration engineering.
• Solid working proficiency in Python and comfort with SQL.
• Experience building integrations with REST APIs; exposure to ETL, data pipelines, or API-based systems.
• Exposure to a cloud data warehouse such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• Some experience with orchestration frameworks such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Willingness to work in a containerized environment using Docker.

Nice to have

• Experience with OAuth 2.0, API keys, secrets management, Kubernetes, or production deployment tooling.
• Experience integrating ERP systems, CRMs, CDPs, or other enterprise data tools.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, data governance, GDPR, or SOC 2.
• Experience in a multi-tenant SaaS or data-intensive environment.
