Backend Engineer (Python)

Location: Remote in Europe time zones, Portugal, Serbia, or Spain

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, high-load backend systems in Python.
• Process and optimize large datasets exceeding 200–400 million records per day.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, integrations, and analytics solutions.
• Develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain backend products and microservices.
• Improve system reliability, security, and performance.
• Review code and collaborate with frontend, QA, and product teams.

Requirements

• More than 4 years of professional software development experience with Python.
• Experience with Django or FastAPI and PostgreSQL performance optimization.
• Experience with asynchronous task queues and messaging systems such as Celery, Redis, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience building and scaling microservices-based solutions.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools, web technologies, and security principles.
• Ability to make architecture decisions with a strong focus on business impact.

Nice to have

• Experience with StarRocks, Airflow, or Kafka Connect.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS infrastructure.
