Safety Technician I

What you will do

• Respond to floor safety needs, support incident response, distribute PPE, conduct ergonomic assessments, and perform safety audits.
• Facilitate new-hire safety orientation and provide limited safety coaching.
• Collect environmental compliance data, including air-monitoring results, filter-performance readings, and hazardous-waste inspection records.
• Monitor and archive inspection supplies for powered industrial trucks.
• Serve as the primary contact for environmental, health, and safety concerns on the production floor.
• Maintain emergency procedures, SDS files, incident reports, and training documentation, and assist with emergency communications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of safety equipment, standards, and corporate environmental, health, and safety policies.
• Ability to understand OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT, and local regulations.
• Ability to influence teams across multiple functions and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication and public-speaking skills.

Culture & Benefits

• Full-time schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
• Work takes place in a manufacturing facility and includes regular standing and walking.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25–50 pounds and occasional travel may be required.
