ES Field Technician I (Hazmat)

Location: Tacoma, Washington, USA

Pay range: $20.30–$27.87 per hour, depending on the hiring locality.

What you will do

• Respond to customer spills and environmental emergencies during and outside normal business hours.
• Perform tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, and high-pressure washing.
• Carry out remedial activities involving confined-space entry, including work in manholes.
• Set up and operate pumps, trailer-mounted generators, air compressors, light towers, pallet jacks, skid steers, and related equipment.
• Maintain equipment and work sites while following all applicable safety policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Experience with light and heavy equipment and hazardous or non-hazardous emergency cleanup.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training after hire.
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and understand operational, technical, process, safety, and quality instructions.
• Knowledge of chemicals and safety data sheets, with the ability to follow hazard-mitigation procedures.
• 0–2 years of relevant work experience; a driver's license may be required for some positions.

Nice to have

• Current confined-space entry certification or the ability to obtain it after hire.
• Experience using hand tools, shop tools, instruments, and tablets or PCs.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, mental resilience, and confidence reporting unsafe practices.
