New Jersey Underwriting Counsel

Location: Remote within the state of New Jersey; occasional local travel is required for business meetings and events.

Salary: $97,700–$143,330 annually, plus potential bonus pay and production or goal-based incentives.

What you will do

• Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers.
• Underwrite real estate title insurance commitments and policies within delegated authority limits.
• Guide personnel in performing real estate settlement services.
• Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, make timely decisions, and handle additional assigned duties.

Requirements

• Must work remotely from within New Jersey and be available for occasional local business travel.
• 5–7 years of title underwriting experience.
• Real estate transactional experience and familiarity with real estate law.
• Strong understanding of real estate title, settlement processes, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Law degree and admission to practice law in a state within the region, in good standing, preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
