Fintech Risk Management Specialist (AI)

Location: Los Angeles, United States; fully in-person up to 5 days per week

Base salary: $136,800–$228,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Analyze user behavior, device fingerprints, and login patterns to identify account takeovers, collusion, card testing, and synthetic identity fraud.
• Build automated triggers to freeze suspicious accounts and prevent financial losses, while conducting high-value and complex risk reviews.
• Oversee chargeback and dispute contestment processes, identify winnable cases, and improve automated representment performance.
• Design and optimize Risk Operations SOPs and identify where manual intervention can be replaced by automation.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to implement AI agents, OCR, LLM-based document parsing, and automated risk scoring.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a quantitative analytical role within Risk Operations, Trust & Safety, or FinTech.
• Required: SQL; Python for data analysis is a plus.
• Experience building reporting suites with BI tools such as Tableau.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles, up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience managing external vendors or large-scale moderation workforces.
• Hands-on experience implementing AI agents or machine learning models for operational workflows, including LLM text classification or vision-based ID verification.
