Technical Lead (GenAI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; onsite at 16 York Street

What you will do

• Build and deploy backend services for GenAI and agentic AI applications using Python, Django or FastAPI, and Celery.
• Productionize LangChain and LangGraph prototypes into reliable backend applications for cyber, risk, regulatory, control, and security domains.
• Deploy and operate containerized applications on OpenShift and Kubernetes through CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop secure RESTful APIs with OAuth2/JWT authentication, rate limiting, input validation, and regulated-bank security controls.
• Integrate RAG, MCP, A2A, multi-agent systems, and LLM-powered workflows while optimizing latency, token costs, caching, orchestration, and observability.
• Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, data science, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python proficiency and at least 2 years building backend services with Django, FastAPI, or a comparable framework.
• Hands-on experience with Celery or similar asynchronous task-processing systems for long-running or distributed workloads.
• Strong knowledge of API security, including OAuth2, JWT, authorization, rate limiting, input validation, and secure API design.
• Experience operating containerized applications on Kubernetes or OpenShift and using CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with RAG, agents, agent orchestration, MCP, A2A, multi-agent systems, and AI observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Langfuse, or LangSmith.
• Ability to work onsite in Toronto, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, vector databases, Vue.js, or React.
• Exposure to OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Cohere, Llama, prompt and context engineering, and LLM cost optimization.
• Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, SAST, DAST, and secure coding practices.
