Sr Principal Developer (AI)

Location: Montreal (Mansfield) and in-person work at the Medina office for the majority of the week

What you will do

• Develop and maintain data connector and ingestion services for industrial protocols including OPC-UA, MQTT, Kafka, ODBC, and Modbus.
• Implement data contextualization, automated workflows, governance frameworks, access controls, and compliance policies.
• Integrate AI-powered capabilities such as predictive analytics, anomaly detection, generative AI, and AI function calls.
• Build scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant services with observability through logs, metrics, lineage, and alerts.
• Document and version customer-facing APIs and schemas while defining platform-level policies for shared services.
• Refine strategic requirements into user stories, participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies, mentor developers, and influence architectural decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 12–15 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with less experience.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies, IoT or edge devices, software architecture, and object-oriented design.
• Experience with several of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python, Lua, Angular, React, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform, Windows, Linux, and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with CI pipelines, automated testing, OAuth 2.0, RBAC, microservices, REST API design, and industrial data platforms such as Inmation, Aveva PI Connect, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience with SAFe or Scrum, strong project management and debugging skills, self-direction, and willingness to provide technical leadership.
