Sr Principal Developer (Cloud Native/IoT)

TL;DR

Sr Principal Developer (Cloud Native/IoT): Developing a next-generation industrial software platform for OT environments with an accent on data pipelines, ingestion services, and AI integration. Focus on designing scalable cloud-native architectures, implementing industrial data protocols, and mentoring engineering teams.

Location: Hybrid. Must work in person at the office in Medina or Montreal the majority of the week.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain data connector and ingestion services for industrial protocols such as OPC-UA, MQTT, Kafka, ODBC, and Modbus.
• Implement data contextualization and create automated workflows for internal and external use cases.
• Integrate AI-powered functionality, including generative AI, predictive analytics, and anomaly detection, into the platform.
• Ensure platform scalability, uptime, and observability for high-volume industrial data using OpenTelemetry.
• Mentor junior developers and influence architectural decisions across the organization.
• Collaborate within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to refine strategic requirements into actionable user stories.

Requirements

• 12-15 years of related software development experience (or an advanced degree with less experience).
• Deep expertise in cloud-native technologies, microservices, and Azure architecture.
• Detailed knowledge of IoT or Edge devices, including their constraints and risks.
• Proficiency in languages such as Java, C#, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Must be able to work in person at the office in Medina the majority of the week.

Nice to have

• Experience with data platforms like Inmation, Aveva PI Connect, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks like Playwright.
