Principal Software Engineer (C#/.NET, Python)

Location: Hybrid in the United States, New York, at 111 West 33rd Street

Salary: $165,000–$215,000 per year for positions in New York and Connecticut.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency backend services and RESTful APIs using C# and .NET Core.
• Build Python-based data processing pipelines, reconciliation tools, analytical scripts, and backend services using Pandas and NumPy.
• Contribute to scalable, resilient, and maintainable system architecture and participate in code reviews.
• Manage MongoDB and MySQL systems to support data integrity and performance.
• Work with Product Managers to clarify requirements and deliver solutions for the Investment Book of Record platform.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in C# and the .NET Core ecosystem.
• Strong professional experience with Python for data analysis, scripting, or backend services.
• Significant financial services experience and knowledge of trade lifecycles, equities, fixed income, derivatives, and position management.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and applying software design patterns.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with an Investment Book of Record or Portfolio Management System.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, ECS, or ServiceStack.
