Senior Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Newark, NJ or New York City, United States

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support full-stack software solutions.
• Deliver production-quality code using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, AWS, Python, PL/SQL, React, microservices, Kafka, and mobile development technologies.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and contribute to architecture and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure software quality, security, and engineering standards.
• Provide technical leadership, estimates, and guidance to developers across multiple teams.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience with commercial software architectures at software and infrastructure levels.
• Experience with application development lifecycles, Agile development, system design, architecture, DevOps, and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of microservices, layered architecture, software design patterns, and object-oriented programming.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and align technical roadmaps with business strategy.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Newark, NJ or New York City.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Experience creating reusable frameworks, programs, and engineering standards.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud platforms, containerization, Scrum, SAFe, Git, and CI/CD.
• Exposure to AI/ML techniques and methodologies.
