Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Tysons, Virginia, United States. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance are required.

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure enterprise software, APIs, microservices, and distributed services.
• Design cloud-native architectures and modernize legacy systems through containers, CI/CD, automation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Build and integrate generative AI, LLM, RAG, and agentic workflow capabilities into production systems using approved AI platforms.
• Develop forecasting, modeling, analytics, and decision-support tools for mission readiness, logistics, sustainment, and supply chain operations.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and sustain production systems while ensuring secure software development and Government cybersecurity compliance.
• Translate operational requirements into production software, collaborate with analysts and stakeholders, and provide technical leadership and mentorship.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field and 15 years of directly related professional experience.
• Recent hands-on production development experience with Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience with enterprise application development, APIs, distributed systems, microservices, software architecture, object-oriented design, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience deploying applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP, including containerized or cloud-native applications.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, technical writing, collaboration, and Agile development skills, including Scrum or Kanban.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI, LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, or AI-enabled application development.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks, orchestration platforms, and intelligent automation solutions.
• Experience building mission applications with analytics, forecasting, optimization, or decision-support capabilities.
