Patient Access Specialist (Day Shift)

Location: Onsite at Ardent - Pascack Valley in Westwood, New Jersey; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform patient admitting, pre-registration, demographic and insurance information collection, and physician order processing.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, verify insurance eligibility, select insurance plan codes, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Conduct medical necessity screening using ABN software and distribute required Medicare, consent, observation, and patient education forms.
• Explain consent and financial forms, obtain required signatures, provide patient instructions, and deliver compassionate customer service.
• Operate the hospital telephone switchboard and handle inbound and outbound calls related to patient access.
• Audit accounts, correct documentation issues, maintain reporting data, and meet quality, compliance, and point-of-service goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Must be able to work onsite in Westwood, New Jersey, and reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
