Industrial Engineer - Paint

Location: Jefferson City, Tennessee, United States; onsite role combining office duties with physical work on production floors.

Salary: $73,200.00–$117,800.00 per year

What you will do

• Provide technical support for automated and robotic paint systems, including paint quality, process, and production issues.
• Troubleshoot coating and finish defects and adjust process parameters to reduce rework and improve quality.
• Optimize line speeds, cycle times, chemical parameters, line balance, manpower requirements, throughput, and material usage.
• Identify improvements in safety, quality, cost, productivity, waste reduction, and equipment reliability.
• Support capital projects, critical spare-parts planning, engineering calculations, investigations, and manufacturing reports.
• Maintain bills of materials, work instructions, process standards, fixtures, plant layouts, and workstation designs while collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing line balancing, cycle-time analysis, throughput optimization, and paint-process troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in office and production environments, including walking, standing, climbing stairs, moderate lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated or robotic industrial paint systems and paint coatings.
• Experience in heavy equipment, automotive, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience reducing scrap, rework, material waste, and equipment downtime.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, data analysis, and charting.
