Advanced Manufacturing Intern

Location: Frederick, Maryland, United States; onsite work across office, field, and production environments

Salary: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support manufacturing engineering goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Visualize factory quality, availability, and performance data and create custom Ignition dashboards.
• Analyze weld, paint, and assembly data to develop predictive models.
• Identify opportunities for automated feedback, smart torque tools, and robotic welding systems.
• Conduct time studies, line balancing, ergonomic assessments, and workstation or cell analyses.
• Create or revise plant layout drawings and provide input on manufacturing fixtures and tooling.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in data analytics, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Ability to perform detailed computer-based work and occasional physical tasks in production environments.
• Ability to walk across shop floors, stand, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and work around varying temperatures or noise levels.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Excel and SQL.
• Familiarity with Power BI.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or industrial process optimization.
