Manager - Distribution (Logistics)

Location: Albany, NY - Karner Rd; onsite distribution and warehouse duties

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead daily truck routing for inter-company shuttles, trailer deliveries, bulk deliveries, and local and inter-branch shipments.
• Manage driver availability, vehicle maintenance, load preparation, delivery documentation, and route completion.
• Train and mentor drivers on safe work practices and oversee compliance with DOT, OSHA, FDA, and company requirements.
• Optimize distribution costs, delivery responsiveness, demand leveling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop, document, and train employees on standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate unusual or emergency delivery requirements with sales, customer service, branches, production, and plant leadership.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or distribution and 2 years of leadership experience in a distribution environment.
• Knowledge of truck routing, hazardous-material shipping, DOT regulations, and FDA requirements.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; SAP knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to safely drive a forklift, perform physical material-handling duties, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid U.S. employment authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• College degree in supply chain management, logistics management, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
