Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: On-site in Merritt Island, Florida or Bethesda, Maryland, USA. Travel up to 25%. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance, and an active/interim Secret clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 per year in Merritt Island; $150,000–$170,000 per year in Bethesda. Performance-based bonuses are also available.

What you will do

• Lead the technical execution and quality of electrical engineering projects for the Fed-Florida Business Unit.
• Design interior and exterior lighting, medium- and low-voltage power distribution, emergency and standby power, lighting controls, fire alarm, life safety, lightning protection, telecommunications, security, and access control systems.
• Perform arc flash, incident energy, short-circuit, load flow, facility condition, and capital asset assessments.
• Serve as Engineer of Record, Design Lead, Chief Engineer, or Design Manager when assigned.
• Support permitting, construction administration, field activities, cost analyses, material take-offs, and project quality control.
• Support proposals and business development through scope reviews, design-build coordination, technical narratives, presentations, and subcontractor coordination.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least 8 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer certification.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and UFC codes and standards.
• Valid and unrestricted Florida driver license.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance; active/interim Secret clearance or ability to obtain one required.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, or other electrical system modeling and drafting software.
• Knowledge of FBC, ASME, and AFMAN/SSMAN requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
