Electrical Engineer

Location: Hybrid position based in Merritt Island, Florida, or Bethesda, Maryland, United States. Travel up to 25%. Must be a U.S. citizen for security clearance requirements and hold a valid, unrestricted Florida driver license.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year in Merritt Island or $100,000–$125,000 per year in Bethesda, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Design interior and exterior lighting, medium- and low-voltage power distribution, emergency and standby power, lighting controls, and automation systems.
• Develop fire alarm, life safety, lightning protection, telecommunications, data infrastructure, security, and access control systems.
• Perform arc flash, short circuit, load flow, facility condition, and electrical infrastructure assessments.
• Support site design, permitting, construction administration, field activities, testing, and project documentation.
• Prepare cost analyses and material take-offs, maintain quality control standards, and resolve issues with customers, contractors, and project teams.
• Review proposal materials, mentor interns and new hires, and assist with process and training improvements.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• EIT certification required; PE certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of ASCE, ASHRAE, ICC, ASTM, and UFC codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and experience with CAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, or comparable modeling and drafting software.
• U.S. citizenship and an active/interim Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of FBC, IBC, USGBC LEED, AFMAN, and SSMAN requirements.
• PE certification.
