Senior Project Manager, Construction & Development (Data Center Construction)

Location: San Antonio, TX; hybrid role with regular work at active construction sites and up to 25% travel to project sites and key locations

What you will do

• Lead major data center construction and development projects from planning and permitting through construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
• Manage project scope, budgets, forecasts, cost controls, schedules, quality, safety, risks, commitments, contingencies, and change orders.
• Develop and negotiate contracts with general contractors, commissioning agents, testing vendors, subcontractors, and other project partners.
• Coordinate OAC, low-voltage, OFCI, utility, commissioning, and operational-readiness activities.
• Oversee engineers, owner’s project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors while resolving issues and escalating material risks.
• Prepare capital expenditure presentations, status reports, risk updates, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in mission-critical data center development, general construction, or heavy MEP systems construction.
• Experience leading construction teams and managing scope, schedules, execution, project finances, contracts, safety, and quality controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting project status, risks, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to coordinate internal teams, vendors, contractors, public officials, and external partners across multiple disciplines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Procore.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-megawatt data center construction, large-scale infrastructure, phased fit-out, and concurrent multi-site projects.
• Experience with commissioning and transitioning construction projects to operational readiness.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
• PMP, CCM, or a similar project management or construction credential.
• Experience coaching project team members or improving construction delivery standards and processes.
