Supervisor, Gas Field Operations (Gas Construction)

Location: MA-Springfield (Roosevelt Ave), with travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary. Onsite field work, customer premises visits, emergency restoration assignments, shift work, and rotational on-call duties are required.

Annual salary: $121,710–$135,230, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Supervise internal, external, and on-call crews performing gas distribution operations, maintenance, and construction.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule field workloads, resources, permits, drawings, and work packages.
• Serve as an on-scene supervisor during outages, classify gas leaks, and ensure engineering and gas control procedures are followed.
• Lead safety meetings, monitor work quality and productivity, and enforce company and regulatory standards.
• Communicate with customers and community officials about utility construction, operations, maintenance, and service delivery.
• Support employee investigations, grievance resolution, hiring panels, billing approval, and labor contract compliance.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in gas distribution, field service design or installation, customer service, or utility operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of gas distribution system design, operations, maintenance, construction principles, safety standards, and business processes.
• Project and schedule management skills, including computerized work and materials management tools.
• Valid motor vehicle operator license and ability to obtain and maintain required operator qualifications.
• Applicants must not require immigration-related sponsorship to start employment. Ability to wear SCBA and required PPE is also required.

Nice to have

• Supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of labor contracts.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
