Manager II - Engineering - Instrumentation & Controls - Gas Power Generation (Gas Power Generation)

Location: Remote/traveling for corporate use only; up to 25% travel to client offices and project sites required

Salary: $147,232–$213,486 per year, with individual compensation based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

What you will do

• Lead the instrumentation and controls engineering program for gas generation projects, from proposals through construction completion.
• Own the design basis for power block and balance-of-plant instrumentation, controls, protection, and interfaces.
• Coordinate engineering activities with business units, generating equipment suppliers, balance-of-plant vendors, clients, and procurement teams.
• Develop engineering standards, design procedures, safety practices, and program management processes for reciprocating engine and gas turbine facilities.
• Support constructability reviews, startup, first fire, synchronization, commissioning, and performance testing.
• Act as the escalation point for controls commissioning issues and own controller communications, DCS interfaces, and data historian configuration.

Requirements

• Four-year electrical or mechanical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college.
• 5+ years of progressive engineering experience in gas power generation, including at least two years of leadership experience.
• Knowledge of reciprocating engines, gas turbines, balance-of-plant equipment, power generation engineering standards, and controls integration.
• Experience with communication protocols such as MODBUS, Profi-Bus, and Foundation Field-Bus, as well as instrumentation programming and commissioning.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record required.
• Registered Professional Engineer license is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems and emissions control systems, including SCR.
• Familiarity with 3-D modeling, equipment sizing, transformer monitoring, vibration monitoring, and instrumentation calibration.
