Supervisor, Gas Meter Services

Location: Auburn, Massachusetts; travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required. The role involves outdoor fieldwork, customer premises, job sites, office work, rotational on-call duties, emergency restoration assignments, weekend or shift work, and storm duty.

Annual salary: $121,710–$135,230, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Supervise multi-skilled crews performing gas meter, company piping, appliance, and customer-premises work.
• Plan, prioritize, schedule, and coordinate work, resources, materials, customers, and internal departments.
• Inspect employee and contractor work for safety, quality, and compliance with company standards.
• Manage employee performance through coaching, mentoring, training, feedback, and corrective action.
• Respond to emergencies, storm events, outages, and rotational off-hour on-call assignments.
• Communicate with customers, community officials, unions, and cross-functional departments to resolve operational issues.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of gas distribution systems, gas production plant operations, metering regulations, and gas-fired equipment.
• Knowledge of construction, operation, maintenance, safety, legal, and regulatory practices for natural gas distribution and metering.
• At least five years of experience in field service, utility operations, a technical discipline, and/or customer service; supervisory experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences or equivalent experience.
• Leadership, problem-solving, customer service, computer, Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Valid motor vehicle operator license and ability to obtain and maintain required operator qualifications.
