Location: Multiple U.S. locations and a remote option associated with the Lenexa, Kansas office, including New York City, Lenexa, Las Vegas, Bentonville, Philadelphia, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Washington, D.C., Phoenix, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Nashville. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $92,400–$138,600 in Las Vegas; $96,800–$145,200 in Denver; $102,080–$153,120 in Washington, D.C.; $107,360–$161,040 in New York.

What you will do

• Design basic to advanced fire protection and building engineering systems, including calculations, layouts, drawings, schematics, and design documents.
• Review shop drawings, plans, reports, products, codes, standards, and equipment applications for technical compliance and feasibility.
• Coordinate project scope, schedules, design teams, client requirements, meetings, quality, and project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor or supervise less experienced designers.
• Communicate with clients, architects, owners, and contractors and help resolve design and construction conflicts.
• Visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress; support Engineer of Record responsibilities when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, architectural, or another relevant engineering field with 6 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design, A&E practices, applicable codes, design guides, and standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant engineering design software.
• Ability to lead teams, train others, work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and operate in a collaborative environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required.

Nice to have

• Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Certifications such as BEMP, CPD, CDP, NICET, RCDD, LEED, or WELL.
