What you will do
- Lead the development of process steam systems for pressure and heat augmentation, distribution, and industrial facility interfaces.
- Define system requirements and specifications, and evaluate solutions through technical and cost-benefit analysis.
- Perform thermodynamic analysis using modeling and simulation tools.
- Define the scope of interdisciplinary systems and serve as a technical liaison with R&D, procurement, EPC firms, and subcontractors.
- Develop steam-system technologies and processes while addressing complex engineering tasks across industrial power applications.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Systems Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- At least five years of experience designing or operating steam and heat distribution systems in the petrochemical or chemical industries.
- Experience with steam systems, gas-fired or electrified boilers, heat exchangers, electric heaters, steam valves, and steam control systems.
- Ability to work across engineering, operations, maintenance, planning, procurement, and external contractor functions.
- Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
- Ability to travel nationally and locally as required.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer license and emphasis in steam systems analysis.
- Basic understanding of nuclear power generation.
- Experience with heat exchanger design, mechanical actuators, instrumentation, safety systems, SCADA, centrifugal compressors, anti-surge control, and operating limits.
- Knowledge of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 quality assurance requirements.
- Project management experience or participation in industry standards associations and working groups.
