Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Fully remote within the United States, operating on Eastern Time from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional travel for training and project meetings is expected at less than 5% per year.

Salary: $106,300–$136,600 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for applications and infrastructure.
• Integrate SAST, DAST, SCA, security controls, and vulnerability remediation throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Manage AWS cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Secure containerized applications using Docker and automate security monitoring, logging, and incident response.
• Collaborate with Java, Python, and Django development teams to secure code and dependencies.
• Support secure data platforms and services including Databricks and Redshift while meeting federal compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of DevOps Engineer experience and experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, or Security Engineering.
• U.S. citizenship or eligibility for U.S. federal public trust clearance; foreign nationals must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the previous 5 years and provide valid passport and visa or work permit documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or the stated experience substitution.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, cloud security, Terraform, and Terragrunt.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions, and securing Docker-based applications.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting CMS or other federal government agencies.
• Knowledge of FISMA, NIST, Databricks, Redshift, Hadoop, Django, Maven, Nessus, BurpSuite, or OWASP.
• Experience administering or sizing data clusters and configuring DevSecOps and security-scanning tools.
• AWS Certified Security Specialty, CISSP, GSEC, or similar certification.
