Chief Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: Adelphi, Maryland, USA; non-remote, on-site only. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $135,000–$175,000 per year.

What you will do

• Serve as the senior technical advisor for enterprise infrastructure modernization, engineering, and technology strategy.
• Evaluate existing infrastructure and identify opportunities for modernization, automation, efficiency, and cost savings.
• Research emerging technologies, industry trends, and vendor solutions for DoD, research, and enterprise environments.
• Develop technical assessments, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, modernization roadmaps, and executive presentations.
• Assess technologies across Windows, Linux, macOS, identity, networking, storage, virtualization, endpoint management, cybersecurity, and cloud environments.
• Support architecture reviews, complex troubleshooting, cybersecurity initiatives, and recommendations to Government and contractor leadership.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and ability to work on-site in Adelphi, Maryland, USA.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
• IAT Level II certification or higher, such as CompTIA Security+ CE, under DoD 8570/8140 requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of progressive experience supporting, engineering, architecting, or modernizing enterprise IT environments.
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure, Active Directory, identity and access management, networking, storage, virtualization, endpoint management, cloud technologies, automation, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting DoD, federal, research, laboratory, or scientific computing environments.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, Nutanix, VMware, Intune, MECM/SCCM, Jamf Pro, or equivalent technologies.
• Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, RHCE, CCNP, VMware VCP, or ITIL.
• Experience with AI-enabled operations, observability, Zero Trust, digital transformation, and infrastructure optimization.
