Senior Project Engineer (Infrastructure, Cloud & Security)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid. Candidates must be located in or around the Boston area. The role requires travel for project work at least once a month and regular night and weekend availability for off-hours upgrades and migrations.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 annual compensation, plus potential bonus or incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead complex infrastructure, cloud, security, and end-user technology projects from design through deployment and post-implementation support.
• Deliver email, file-sharing, server, network, firewall, wireless, SSO, MFA, office relocation, audio/video, and phone-system projects.
• Partner with Project Managers, engineers, support teams, vendors, and client stakeholders to manage scope, schedules, budgets, and outcomes.
• Provide senior technical leadership, troubleshooting, escalation support, end-user training, and transition to ongoing support.
• Create technical and user-facing documentation, including runbooks, network diagrams, IP schemas, configuration guides, and build documentation.
• Maintain client satisfaction throughout implementation and project closeout.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of hands-on experience in IT systems architecture, deployment, support, and best practices.
• Advanced technical certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, or Fortinet certifications.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Server, VPNs, firewalls, wireless technologies, remote desktop, cloud services, storage, and backup solutions.
• Must be located in or around Boston and able to work in a hybrid arrangement.
• Ability to travel for project work at least monthly and regularly work nights and weekends for off-hours changes.
