Manager, State & Local Government Relations & Public Policy (Southern/South-East)

What you will do

• Lead government relations, advocacy, and relationship-building efforts with elected officials across approximately 15 states, focusing on Southern and South-Eastern states.
• Manage contract lobbyists, in-state consultants, industry coalitions, and grassroots initiatives.
• Monitor priority bills, regulations, and state policy issues affecting hirify.global’s business and customers.
• Develop written analyses, strategic assessments, and advocacy plans to influence state legislation and regulatory activity.
• Build relationships with state agencies, trade associations, elected officials, and other external stakeholders.
• Partner with legal teams, policy colleagues, and business subject-matter experts to address regulatory challenges and create business opportunities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in multi-state government affairs, advocacy, coalition-building, or state policy, with a focus on Washington, DC, and Southern/South-Eastern states.
• Experience in technology-industry government relations and public policy, including industry affairs and coalition building.
• Strong understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes and the state political and public-policy environment.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, prioritizing competing demands, and leading teams in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
• Strong critical-thinking, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or more advanced degree, with demonstrated integrity and adherence to applicable lobbying, campaign-finance, and compliance requirements.
