Intermediate Software Developer (Java)

Location: Hybrid in Montreal, Canada

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 CAD annual base salary or OTE

What you will do

• Implement and maintain features across product catalog, orders, fulfillment, and customer-facing applications.
• Build and extend REST and GraphQL APIs using Java and Spring.
• Work with PostgreSQL and messaging systems including Kafka, SQS, and SNS.
• Contribute technical designs, explain trade-offs, and participate in code reviews.
• Own testing, delivery, release follow-up, and issue resolution across unit, integration, and end-to-end quality layers.
• Partner with warehouse, procurement, fulfillment, and customer operations stakeholders to translate workflows into production software.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience or ability to work with Java, Spring, REST, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and messaging systems.
• Ability to write tests, participate in code reviews, explain technical trade-offs, and follow changes through delivery.
• Responsibility for understanding and reviewing AI-assisted coding changes, including test coverage and merge quality.
