What you will do
- Lead technical direction and delivery for a cross-functional squad while remaining hands-on with software development.
- Act as the first line of technical escalation for squad services and components.
- Translate product objectives into technical designs, acceptance criteria, and implementable stories.
- Design and implement complex features, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
- Establish quality standards covering automated testing, security checks, observability, CI/CD pipelines, and release strategies.
- Partner with platform and engineering teams on SLOs, alerting, runbooks, incident response, and post-incident learning.
Requirements
- Experience leading through influence across software design, delivery, and operations.
- Strong experience in distributed services, data platforms, or high-throughput web or mobile applications.
- Advanced knowledge of Agile and Lean practices, including backlog refinement, technical grooming, and risk-based planning.
- Experience with test strategy, test automation, CI/CD quality gates, and release readiness.
- Proficiency in one or more of Java/JVM, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET/C#, Python, C/C++, SQL, Linux, or Windows.
- Experience with relational and non-relational data stores, performance tuning, data modelling, containers, cloud technologies, observability, secure coding, and reliability engineering.
