TL;DR
Senior Network Engineer (Enterprise Networking/Cloud): Designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable LAN, WAN, and hybrid cloud infrastructure with an accent on routing, switching, network security, load balancing, and resilient private cloud connectivity. Focus on architecting enterprise network services, solving complex infrastructure issues through root cause analysis, and optimizing performance, capacity, and reliability.
Location: Hybrid, with three days per week in the office and two days from home, based in Sheffield, London, Birmingham, Manchester, or Bristol, United Kingdom

What you will do
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise-scale LAN, WAN, and hybrid cloud networks.
- Implement VPN, VLAN, QoS, DNS, DHCP, ACI, EVPN, and network segmentation services.
- Deploy and support enterprise routers, switches, load balancers, and private cloud network infrastructure.
- Work with security teams to enforce access controls, compliance, and IT policy requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize performance and capacity.
- Document network architecture, configurations, failover strategies, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- CCNP certification or equivalent experience; CCNA is the minimum certification level.
- Demonstrable expertise in switching, routing, load balancing, and network security.
- Experience delivering complex network solutions within time, cost, and quality targets.
- Strong structured problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rota.
- Awareness of industry trends and the ability to align network strategy with business goals.
Nice to have
- Enterprise on-premises virtualization experience with VMware.
- Cloud networking experience with AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments.
- Experience with SD-WAN, network automation, and infrastructure as code.
- Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, SolarWinds, PRTG, or NetFlow.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
