Network Engineer IV (Telecommunications)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and support high-availability network infrastructure across internal technology departments.
• Plan future network architecture and integrate complex solutions across multiple computing platforms and business departments.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot outages, manage escalations, and coordinate updates and optimization.
• Define operational KPIs and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, training materials, and support resources.
• Lead major complex projects, provide technical direction, and coordinate with project management, engineering, software development, systems engineering, and product teams.
• Mentor engineers, administrators, technicians, and junior engineers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a bachelor's degree in computer technologies, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive information technology engineering experience involving design, implementation, telecommunications, and complex project management.
• Advanced expertise in high availability, redundancy, reliability, testing, security, scalability, and telecommunications engineering standards.
• Experience with network protocols and technologies including MPLS, QoS, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, VPN, VPLS, LACP, HSRP, and VRRP.
• Ability to make independent technical decisions, lead complex projects, manage budgets and schedules, and provide technical oversight.
• Ability to work assigned shifts and additional hours during weekends, holidays, or emergencies; occasional travel and reliable transportation may be required.

Nice to have

• Telecommunications industry experience.
• Telecommunications or role-specific certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIP, JNCIE, PCNSA, or PCNSE.
