Resident Supplier Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Berlin, Germany; regular on-site work at supplier locations and approximately 25–30% travel worldwide.

What you will do

• Deploy to supplier sites as a quality escalation expert to stabilize production after critical quality, technical, or delivery issues.
• Lead immediate containment activities to prevent defect escapes and protect customers.
• Develop and manage supplier recovery plans, including action tracking, milestones, accountability, and executive reporting.
• Conduct root cause analyses, manufacturing process reviews, and quality audits.
• Define, implement, validate, and track corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with supplier engineering, quality, operations, and internal stakeholders to improve process capability, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, quality engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive experience in quality management, manufacturing environments, supplier quality, and production process improvement.
• Strong expertise in root cause analysis, problem-solving methodologies, Kaizen, supplier recovery, and manufacturing process assessments.
• Experience identifying technical failure mechanisms and implementing sustainable process improvements.
• Experience working in cross-functional and international environments; experience with turbine hot gas components or other complex manufacturing technologies is beneficial.
• Fluency in German and English and willingness to travel approximately 25–30% to supplier locations worldwide.
