Advanced Quality Engineer (Quantum Hardware)

Location: On-site in Broomfield, Colorado, United States. Applicants must be U.S. Persons, including U.S. citizens, permanent residents, green card holders, or individuals granted asylum or refugee status. Due to national security requirements, People's Republic of China and Russian nationals are ineligible unless they are also U.S. citizens.

Salary: $120,000–$161,000 annually.

What you will do

• Own quality engineering activities for complex mechanical, electrical, optical, opto-mechanical, vacuum, cryogenic, and photonics hardware from development through production.
• Develop quality management processes, procedures, records, audit evidence, configuration controls, and product traceability practices.
• Translate engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and system requirements into inspection plans, acceptance criteria, control plans, and conformity evidence.
• Partner with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and R&D teams on design reviews, build readiness, hardware releases, supplier quality, and production troubleshooting.
• Lead containment, material review, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action, and effectiveness verification for nonconforming hardware.
• Analyze yield, defect, escape, rework, reliability, and process-capability data to prioritize improvements and verify sustained results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant fields include mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, chemical engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of quality, manufacturing, product, or reliability engineering experience with complex hardware.
• Experience with nonconformance management, material review, root cause analysis, corrective action, quality inspections, and vendor management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T and convert them into practical inspection or acceptance methods.
• Experience with precision mechanical assemblies, electronics, optics, lasers, photonics, vacuum systems, cryogenic systems, or similarly complex equipment.
• U.S. Person status and compliance with the stated national security eligibility requirements are mandatory.

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Experience with reliability testing of optical and opto-mechanical systems.
• Experience with data analytics for hardware performance and process improvement.
• Experience supporting development builds, qualification or verification, production release, and sustaining improvement.
