Middle Java Developer (iGaming)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Hybrid work is available after the first three months, with up to 50 days of work from home per year.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance microservice applications using Java 21+ and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement scalable, resilient, secure, and high-performance solutions.
• Work with relational and OLAP databases, including PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, and write optimized SQL queries.
• Process complex data structures to and from Kafka.
• Apply microservice architecture best practices, including API design, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Front End, Product, and QA teams; participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java 21+ and Spring Boot, including Spring Data JPA and other enterprise Java components.
• Experience with SQL databases, optimized queries, Kafka, Linux, and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservice architectures.
• Basic understanding of service discovery, API gateways, and service monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, and collaboration skills in an agile environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse, Apache Flink, Avro, OpenID, or other SSO mechanisms.
• Previous experience in gaming or sports betting.
• Experience with AI code assistance tools such as Gemini and Claude, and an AI-first mindset.
